Native with the University of Maryland

We’ve been learning with fellow growers about Maryland native plants with the help of the University of Maryland’s native program. The viirtual presentation series serves many different niches, from grower to landscaper and provides tailored information each group can use to better serve their customer base. The University is developing detailed and easy to understand guides on each of the three Maryland ecoregions; Mountain, Piedmont, and Coastal Plain. The Piedmont guide is already out and available for free in PDF form on their website, with the others soon to follow!

MDA Native Certification

The University of Maryland’s new MDA Certification Program, Maryland’s Best Native Plants is in full swing with over 30 local nurseries participating. From wholesale and landscaping to retail, there are nurseries all across Maryland ready to serve you. The program’s website lists each member and includes a map to help you find the most convenient path to the next step in sustainability!
